The Beauty of Becoming: Embracing the In-Between

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the idea of potential—the potential of a life, a career, or even a passion project. I often catch myself asking, What does the life I dream of look like? How do I get there? And who will I be once it finally arrives?

But through the daily grind of building a business and navigating this journey with Maggie, I’m realizing that this future life doesn’t magically start at some grand destination—it begins in the small, often unseen, moments of today. The truth is, the evolution of our future selves starts in the in-between—the early morning wake-ups, the monotonous days, the times we feel stuck or uncertain.

As business owners, creatives, or dreamers, it’s so easy to want to fast forward to the part where everything feels settled and successful. But what if the true magic is found in the process, in the grind, in the quiet work of showing up every day?

I’ve been sitting with the idea of “becoming.” The more I think about it, the more I believe it’s not about rushing to get over things, but instead learning how to get through them. These hidden seasons of waiting and working are where we grow, evolve, and build the character necessary for the life we’re creating. Unlearning old patterns, embracing uncertainty, and being present in the “not yet” are all part of the journey.

Maybe the most important lesson in all of this is learning how to show up wholeheartedly in the growth, in the discomfort, and in the beauty of the present moment. Because when we truly sit in those experiences—no matter how challenging—we begin to understand that life is more about the process of becoming than the destination itself.

In this season of running Maggie Villamaria alongside Maggie, I’ve been continually reminded that unmet goals often translate into growth, resilience, and courage. Each stage of this journey has been a teacher—one that nudges (and sometimes throws) us into embracing the unknown.

So, if you’re at the edge of starting something new—whether it’s launching a business, pivoting your career, or simply exploring a new passion—know that there’s value in the in-between. Your story is unfolding, and the process of becoming is where the beauty lives.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we’re becoming more fully alive, more present, and more true to the unique paths we’re on.

With gratitude,

Sara
