Inspiration can feel fickle at times, especially when life gets busy or creativity feels a bit stuck. That’s exactly how I was feeling when I decided to visit the Austin Gem Show this past October. As a creative, it’s so important to put materials in front of you, to spark new ideas and bring fresh energy to your work. The moment I stepped into the gemstone tents, surrounded by strands of sapphire, topaz, aquamarine, and so many others, I felt completely inspired.

While I was caught up in my color-loving daydream, Sara noticed a strand of opals—her birthstone. They immediately felt special and I told her to grab them. When I gave it to her a few days later, she was so proud of the gemstone and wore it everywhere. The compliments poured in, and it sparked a conversation between us: what would it look like to release a birthstone collection? The idea felt personal, meaningful, and something we wanted to share with all of you.

That’s when it hit me: birthstones aren’t just beautiful. They’re personal, meaningful, and such a special way to honor your life. There’s something magical about wearing a gemstone tied to your birth month—it’s a connection to who you are, the story of your life, and even to the larger community of people around the world who share your birthstone.
